I took advantage of an opportunity yesterday to meet with 270 potential real estate investors and volunteered to help out with their tour. A group called REIN: Real Estate Investing Network based out of Calgary took a whirlwind tour of some of the towns that they have deemed to be the 'top ten places to invest in Ontario.' Barrie and Orillia are rated as tied for number 2 behind Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge (the technology triangle) based on their systems.

Things are looking up in Michigan. The following is a market update from Dan Elsea of Real Estate One.

August followed the same trend as July and for the most part the past six months, a rising rate of sales (in terms of number of homes sold), a declining inventory of available homes and a decline in home values. Midwestern Housing Market Looking Better
There was some good news this month for Midwestern cities hardest hit by the housing downturn.

In 10 of the 26 markets analyzed by Altos Research and Real IQ, asking prices increased in July, with the largest monthly gain in hard-bitten Detroit, up 4.8 percent. Denver and Cleveland also showed solid improvement, up 2.3 percent and 2.7 percent respectively.

Local Golf Tournament

Last Saturday we had our neighbourhood golf tournament. Each year someone volunteers or the name is drawn from a hat for the person who will organize and host the party next year. As we at LCU are pushing being the "Local Celebrity" I volunteered for 2009. This will give me lots of interactions with my neighbours and I will not keep it a secret that I am a Leading Real Estate Salesperson.
